Friday night I thought I was getting a zit. Natsuko and I laughed about how I'm 29 and still getting zits.
Saturday the thing looked a little bigger but I thought it must be a REALLY big zit ! No big deal.
Sunday night I was starting to worry because most of my cheek had changed colour.
Monday morning I woke up and the entire side of my face was swollen and my right eye was swollen closed ! It felt like I'd be punched in the face. Now I knew this had to be something more than a zit, and to be honest I was a little worried. I drove over to the Emergency ward at Richmond General Hospital.
It turns out I have some sort of infection that has caused an abscess to form on my face. The doctor put me on antibiotics for a week. Luckily the swelling has started to go down, because if it didn't... The doctor was going to make an incision in my cheek to drain out the abscess. Not only does that sound TOTALLY disgusting, but it would also leave a big scar on my face. I've spent the past 2 days at home with a steaming hot compress on my face. So now I'm wondering what could have caused this ? This is usually caused by dust or bacteria. We just got some new carpet installed and that kicked up a lot of dust around our place. Maybe that was it ?!?!?! I have no idea... But man this thing hurts.

OMG it's happening to me. My eye isn't closed yet, but it's getting worse. I guess I will be getting some antibiotics as they seem to have worked for you.
