STEVESTON BABY DUCK RESCUE TEAM - UPDATE !

If you are one of the few people who read this blog regularly, then you might remember my post about the "Steveston Baby Duck Rescue Team".

Myself and a few other dedicated animal lovers, rescued a family of baby ducks that were trapped in a storm drain last year.

Well I just found out that our local community website also posted about it. You can see the post HERE.

It's been just over a year now since that event happened, and it's still very fresh in my mind. To everyone that helped that day, thank you once again !

Beadle

Did they ask your permission to use the blog post?

I had no idea they used it. It's great they did though. Hopefully all the people that helped out that day saw it.

My girlfriend has also just found a duck in a storm drain and we were wondering if there any programs out there for it. We want to give this baby duck a good home. Any help would be appreciated

After speaking with the SPCA about this quite some time ago, they will take the baby duck. If you're in Burnaby there is also an orphaned wildlife rescue organization that will take it (which is where the SPCA sends them).

At this time of year there are a lot of baby birds around. Your friend should be certain that the duckling was abandoned before taking it to a rescue group. The mother ducks are often nearby waiting for their babies. It's rare that the mother will actually leave their young behind.

Best of luck !
