TUROK

Last night at approximately 1am I completed the xbox 360 game, TUROK. I received a copy of this game as a birthday present from Jason Hopkins. Thanks again Hopkins !

This was one seriously challenging game. But for all the frustration I felt while playing the game, I never wanted to stop. Sometimes I'd walk away from it for a day or two, but in the back of my mind I'd be plotting my next move.

The environments look amazing and the dinosaurs are awesome. Especially the T-REX ! There is a great assortment of weapons, and I don't think I even got to use them all. During the final battle, I was still discovering what some of the weapons do.

When I started playing the game, I was dissapointed with the knife and bow weapon. I wanted GUNS ! But as I advanced through the various levels, I found the knife and bow became two of my favorites. I guess I just didn't understand how to properly use them at first.

I'm hoping there is a part 2 to this game. It would be great to see more types of dinosaurs. Overall, I had a great time playing through TUROK. I can't even begin to describe the rush you get when you take down a T-REX with a rocket launcher, and then stab it in the skull with a knife. At one point Natsuko caught me lighting raptors on fire with a flame thrower (another awesome weapon). I'm not sure if the flames were reflecting off my eyes or not, but she was greatly disturbed by what she saw.

She asked me, "Did you just shoot that poor thing and then light it on fire?"

I paused, and then answered her, "Yes I did.....yes I did."

your pal,
Beadle

A friend of mine complained that the gameplay was somewhat one dimensional. When I asked him if he was getting any stealth kills, he didn't know what I meant. After explaining that you could sneak around undetected he said, "Oh... well I like running and gunning anyways."

So, his complaint was based on his own choice of play style, and he didn't want to change that. Nice.

Just had to get that out there.

I can't wait to get a 360. I'll even take a 350 if they're out there!
