WOODEN DEER HEAD: UPDATE !

An amazing thing happened to us yesterday. If you've been reading this blog for the past few weeks, you'll know that we recently purchased a ROOST WOODEN DEER HEAD. We love it. It's proudly mounted above our fireplace. When we purchased the deer head it was unclear to us where it was crafted. Well MYSTERY SOLVED ! We now know it was made in Argentina of all places ! And we even know the name of the artisan !
His name is Pablo.

What a surprise it was for us to open our mailbox yesterday and find a postcard from Pablo ! Postmarked from Argentina ! Koolhaus must have a program where they notify the artists in developing countries when their work is sold. We could tell from Pablo's words that he must be a very kind person. Although he does threaten to hurt us in the last line of his message...

Pablo is an individual with truly unique taste... He carves beautiful life-size wooden animal heads, and sends postcards with semi-topless women on them. I'm so happy we could help support this starving artist and his family. If only we had Pablo's return address we could travel to Argentina and pay him a visit, or at the very least send him and his family a postcard with semi-topless women on it.
